Meet Program Director : Darlene Miller

Darlene who never enjoyed exercise early in her life now is a Marathoner. It all started for Darlene one year providing cheerleading help for her daughter to Houston Marathoners at mile 25, she was herself inspired by the courage of the runners and decided then she would train and complete the 26 mile 365 yard distance herself.

She has three Marathon's and three half marathons under her belt. Running a marathon surely changes your life and it's never more evident for Darlene than now. This is Darlene's second year at the helm and she brings her passion and organization to the Galloway Program. She is most proud of the success the program brings to the runners. She mentioned that of the 120 members that signed up last year 90 either ran a half or a full marathon. An outstanding statistic compared to other running groups. And because of the Galloway method many have run multiple marathons in one year. What Darlene enjoys most about the program is the people she meets.

 

Darlene plans to focus this year on an even more structured program, with more specific training such as TIPS (Time Improvement Pacing Sessions).
